Pedalling for a purpose
Last weekend, our team gathered in the charming village of Saalbach for an exhilarating mountain biking event that not only tested the participants' skills but also touched the hearts of many.
This year, we decided again to take part in the Bike for Butterfly Children charity event, and in no small way, as we had a bigger team than ever before, representing the Capture Group and Tricise. Great team, bright sunshine, good air, and a noble goal: there's nothing else you need for a perfect weekend. In addition, this year our team even wore Capture-Tricise branded gears, so the team spirit was stronger than ever.
As in previous years the Biking 4 Butterfly Children Team competed at the Worldgames of Mountainbiking from 8 - 10 September 2023 in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Salzburg. Almost 200 athletes grabbed a bike for the "Butterfly Children", completing many kilometers in altitude and distance and collecting donations for the "Butterfly Children".
Austria is home to approximately 500 butterfly children, individuals whose skin is as delicate as a butterfly's wings. Even the slightest pressure or stress on their skin results in the formation of painful blisters and wounds. The critical research and development efforts aimed at easing and ultimately curing this condition rely heavily on financial support from private donors.
More and more companies and organizations recognized the importance of this initiative, so the successes speak for themselves - since 2006, more than 1,000 participants have pedaled for the good cause or run in the Vienna City Marathon. So far, a total of almost 300,000 euros have been collected for the benefit of the "Butterfly Children"!
We are proud to support a good cause and make life easier for so many young children.
