JAVA Developer (remote)

Vienna / Full-time

The developer will be working in a multinational development hub based in Vienna, that supports 40 countries with their custom developed financial transaction applications. The role takes active part in the backend development of a new application, as part of a close-knit scrum team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, test, support and deploy custom backend applications and services
• Research and evaluate software related technologies and products.
• Implement best practices, standards and procedures including quality and delivery methodologies and ensure compliance with the documented software processes and procedures throughout the SDLC.
• Work in an agile team of 8-12 members.
• Coordinate with enterprise architects, development leads and product managers to determine appropriate functionalities and implementation.
• Take an active role in improvement endeavours
• Main technologies/tools used: Java 11, 17, SpringBoot, Microsoft SQL,  Rabbit MQ, Maven, Jenkins.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5 years in a professional software development work environment
• Excellent understanding of OOP concepts and principles and Java programming language skills. Knowledge of Java 11 is necessary, Java 17 is an advantage
• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
• Experience in the design of REST API’s
• Microsoft SQL knowledge and hands on experience
• Strong English language (oral and written) in routine, technology-related work settings

Nice to have:

• Experience with continuous integration and tools
• Experience with RabbitMQ or similar messagging technologies

Role type / term: external (contractor) for the first 12 months with 3 days/month in the Vienna office, then upon mutual sympathy internalization by Client as an employee, with 1day/week onsite work and relocation to Austria.
